Allen alonso

Rodriguez-Ugalde

Alonso hails from Heredia, Costa Rica. He completed his B.S. in Pharmacy at the Universidad de Costa Rica, where he worked on the extraction and evaluation of natural products under the guidance of Prof. Ronny Vargas Monge. Later, he obtained his M.S. in Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nottingham where he investigated the pharmacokinetics of lipophilic prodrugs in the group of Prof. Pavel Gershkovich. Alonso joined the Bloom lab in 2019 and is currently developing photocatalytic methods for the synthesis of unnatural amino acids and non-classical peptides.
